| I think the prep is the hardest part. There are some forums out there that are helpful. My biggest problem is air supply. Not the band. I have a 30 gallon single stage compressor, and already know it's not going to be enough. Add to that, the lack of an air line dryer (conditioner), I think I'd be in trouble. I bought two guns with 5 tips total, screens, filters, manual long boards, a pnuematic long board, and pretty much everything I could think of for prep and paint... except proper air supply. There have been some pretty good articles in hot rod magazine and car craft magazine about doing ALL the prep your self (labor), and then taking it to the local $100.oo paint job place to get shot for $500 or so (proper paint and clear coats). But even at that, you wont have the opportunity to properly block the car between coats or be able to shoot a high build primer for blocking the car. Lots of ifs and ands involved in the equation.
I say, if you have the compressor go for it. The rest is releatively in expensive in comparison.
